General Questions

How many people are in a class?
It all depends on what location the class is being held on the day you will be attending.
But we do not have more than 18 people in a class at any given time.

Where are the classes held?
TriniSoul classes are held in shared rented commercial kitchens in Harlem, Brooklyn Queens and the Bronx.
In the event we can't book dates at a rented facility, classes will be held at event spaces in and around Brooklyn and Queens.
Classes are also held in rented private apartments in Brooklyn and Queens.
We also host classes at rented private apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Do Simply Caribbean ever change location after booking?
Unfortunately, yes we do. At times it may become necessary to change a location due to low class enrollment or if an emergency arises and we can't use the booked kitchen for reasons beyond our control.
We do not own our own kitchen so surprises do happen or come up.

Do you have your own kitchen?
No we do not have our own kitchen at the present time. Hopefully, we will have our own kitchen by the end of 2013.

When do you post New Schedules.
We post new schedules at least 2 - 3 weeks in advance, but we are trying our best to post new schedules as soon as space becomes available to us at any of our rented kitchens .
In the future classes will be posted at least 4-6 weeks in advance.

What is the difference between a private class and a public class?
A private class is when a group of clients reserve the entire kitchen for an evening . No other clients are allowed, except those you invite . You get four full hours of hands-on instruction and a customized menu .
Private classes are available for any day of the week based on availability.
Public classes are when clients sign up for a specific number of seats and the menus are pre-selected by our TriniSoul Chef. Dates and Times are also selected by the chefs.
You do not get to customized your menu or choose you own date for the class.

Can I purchase a Gift Certificate?
Yes, you can.

How long are the classes?
Classes are usually around 3 hours long or less, depending on the menu.

Do you hand out recipes at the class?
We do not give out recipes at the class . From experience when we give out recipes in the class, clients tend to focus on the recipe and not on the actual cooking process.
We do however will send out recipes via email from most of our higher end classes within 2 -3 days after the class.
You are more than welcome to take notes.

Do you have a cookbook?
Yes, we do have an ecookbook available for purchase on our website for $14.99

What is your location or where is your kitchen?
I can answer this in the simplest way as possible.
We do not have our own kitchen, so we do not have a location that we can call our home.
We rent commercial kitchen and event spaces as well as private apartments and homes around Manhattan and Brooklyn depending on the size of the class.
At times we will need to relocate to accommodate a larger or a smaller class.
But most of our Brooklyn classes are hosted in Williamsburg, BedStyvesant, Dumbo, Crown Heights or Flatbush.
Most Manhattan classes are hosted in East Harlem or Chelsea.
Please check your confirmation email a few days before the scheduled class for updated information.

Cancellations and Refunds

What is the cancellation policy?
Public Cooking Classes:
If you cancel at least 8 days prior to the start of your registered class, your payment will be refunded within 7 to 10 days. If you cancel after that , we will issue you a credit towards another class. If you cancel within 3 days of a class, NO REFUNDS or CREDIT will be given. If you are unable to attend, you may send someone else in your place, as we will not have enough time to fill your seat.
If you're using a voucher, you will need to get your refund from the company that you bought your voucher or coupon from. TriniSoul do not have the ability or will issue refunds for vouchers, as the vouchers were not bought directly from us.
Private Cooking Classes/ Parties
All cancellations are required 14 days in advance for a full refund
Cancellations of less than 14 days are non - refundable, but can be applied to a A FUTURE Cooking Party or a Private Cooking session . NO EXCEPTIONS

How do I change or cancel a reservation?
You can log in to your account if one was made , or reply to the pre - confirmation email you received when you booked the class, indicating your change of class or cancellation.
You can change a reservation up to 5 days before the class.
Reservations can't be changed after that, you are more than welcome to send someone else in your place.
Booking & Upgrading Vouchers

How do I book a class with my coupon or voucher?
Go to the Class calendar on our website which is located under the cooking class tab on the top of the page in the navigation menu. there you will see a link that says, Groupon and vouchers, click the book button and all the voucher classes will be listed . Choose whatever class you will like to attend.

What if I do not have a voucher can I still book a class.
Yes you can book a class without a voucher just click here and choose whatever class you will like to attend and how many seats.
We will then send you payment information.
Or you can click on the Class menu from the dropdown list under cooking class, choose your class and pay directly from the on the website.

How far in advance do I have to book a class?
As far in advance as you possibly can, the sooner you book, the better the chances are of you having a seat in the class.
Book as soon as the classes are listed, which is usually about 2 -3 weeks in advance.

Can I bring someone with me to the class?
Yes you can, as long as you've paid and made bookings or reservation for both of you.

I have a Voucher for two classes, can I bring someone?
If you have a voucher for two classes, then you can attend two separate classes , or you can bring another person with you and attend just one class, just make sure that you list 2 people or quantity 2 when you book the class.

I have a voucher for a cooking class for two people?
If your voucher states that your cooking class is for two people, you will need to use your voucher for two people in one class.
You can't use your voucher for two classes, it is not a voucher for two classes, but it's a voucher for two people to attend the same class.
If you attend the class by yourself,your voucher will be redeemed and you will not be allowed to attend another class with that same voucher.
So read your voucher fine prints very carefully.
